Monday 12th August

1st XVI V Merchiston (Home)

The 1st XVI entered the last game of the season needing 8 points to guarantee winning the league.  Well to say they did it the hard way would be an understatement.  Dean Mackintosh was 16-0 down after 9 ends and finished highest up with an amazing comeback, including a 7, in a 22-16 win against Ian Burns.  Craig Mackintosh was 9-3 in front then peels at 9-9 then 17-14 up before losing a 2 to win 17-16 against Frank Gordon.  Graeme Todd was 8-1 down then went 14-11 up playing the last end before losing a 3 to peel 14-14 against Colin Cochrane.  Scott Mackintosh was 9-3 down then 12-9 up then 16-14 down playing the last before conjuring up a 3 to win 17-16 against Andrew Nisbett.


2nd XVI V Colinton (Away)

The 2nd XVI lost 9-0 away to Colinton to finish bottom of division 3.  John Neal  was peels playing the last but lost a 2 in a 14-12 defeat to W. Ferguson.  Bill Whyte was never in front as he lost 17-8 to Ian McCallum.


SATURDAY 3RD AUGUST

Edinburgh Plate Final V Currie @ Whitehouse & Grange

The men lost 7-0 to Currie in the final of the Edinburgh Plate as Currie made it 3 years on the trot.  Things looked bright at the halfway mark as we led in 2 rinks and trailed in 1 and even after 13 ends we still led 4-3 but Currie finished strongly to win on all 3 rinks.  Graeme Todd led 12-4 but could only score 2 more shots in an 18-14 defeat to Neil Fisher.  Craig Mackintosh led 6-0 then 11-9 before losing 16-13 to Colin Anderson.  Dean Mackintosh trailed 9-2 but fought back to 12-9 down before losing 18-10 to Dean Fleming.


Ladies Edinburgh Cup Final V Corstorphine @ Whitehouse & Grange

​The Ladies won the Edinburgh Cup with a 5-0 win against Corstorphine.  Gillian Mackintosh led 8-1 before losing a 5 at the 7th end but she responded well to build up a 20-8 lead then won 20-11 against Pat Clark.  Nicola Barclay was only 8-6 in front after 10 ends but a run of 3, 1, 2, 1 put her in control before winning 15-8 against Chris Bentley.


Wednesday 31st JulY

1st XVI V Dudley (Away)

The men clinched promotion to Division 3 with a 6-3 win away to Dudley.


National Finals @ Ayr

Junior Singles

Dean Mackintosh won his first round game 21-17 against Philip Smith from Greenlaw.

Dean lost his 2nd round game 21-12 to eventual winner Jason Banks from Inverurie.


Ladies Senior Singles

Rosemary Mackintosh battled back from 19-7 down to 19-16 before losing 21-16 to eventual winner Karen McAndrew from Thornton.


Ladies Singles

Pat Turner lost 21-20 against Alison Boyd from Mount Vernon in the first round.


Ladies Triples

Wendy Rhind, Diane Bell and Margaret Murray won 20-7 against Bogleha' in the first round.

The Ladies won their 2nd round game  18-6 against Milton of Campsie.

The Ladies lost 16-9 in the quarter final against Hawick.


Friday 19th JULY

Ladies Championship Final

Gillian Mackintosh triumphed in the mother V daughter final with a 21-10 victory.  Rosemary Mackintosh held the upper hand in the first half of the game as she built up a 10-7 lead however Gillian scored a single to move to 10-8 then brought the mat up and never looked back as Rosemary failed to score again.  This was Gillian's 6th title win.


Edinburgh Plate V Balerno @ West End

The Men beat Balerno 4-3 in the semi final of the Edinburgh Plate at West End.  Craig Mackintosh won, Dean Mackintosh peeled and Scott Mackintosh did enough to secure the aggregate point.


Wednesday 17th july

1st XVI V Whitehouse & Grange (Away)

The 1st XVI closed the gap to league leaders Currie to just 1 point when they beat Whitehouse & Grange 7-2.  Dean Mackintosh won 38-4, Scott Mackintosh won 25-8 and Craig Mackintosh won ?-?.  Graeme Todd lost ?-?.


2nd XVI V Sighthill (Home)

The 2nd XVI lost 7-2 at home to league leaders Sighthill.


3rd Team V Merchiston (Away)

The 3rd team had only 1 rink.  They lost 5-0 away to Merchiston with the rink losing 20-17.


Monday 15th july

Ladies EBL V Willowbrae (Home)

The Ladies moved within 2 points of league leaders Tanfield with a 5-0 win away to Willowbrae.


Friday 12th july

Edinburgh Plate V Dudley (Home)

The men moved into the semi final of the Edinburgh Plate with a 4-3 win at home to Dudley.  Things didn't look promising at the half way stage as only Craig Mackintosh was in front but Scott Mackintosh recovered from 11-4 down to win 20-17 against Graham Flight.  Craig  moved from 10-7 to 17-7 before winning 22-9 against Grant Fraser.  Dean Mackintosh won only 4 ends as he crashed to a 26-5 defeat against Ricky Louden.


Forth League V Goldenacre (Away)
The Ladies won 7-0 away to Goldenacre.  Margaret Murray won 39-6, Rosemary Mackintosh won 18-11 and Diane Bell won 16-3.


Thursday 11th july

Top 5 V Currie (Away)

The men lost by the narrowest of margins in a 3-2 defeat to Currie in the Top 5 singles.  Craig Mackintosh made it 1-0 as he romped to a 21-3 win.  Dean Mackintosh lost 21-10 the Scott Mackintosh lost 21-9 to make it 1-2.  Gordon Grundison played a great shot to turn a bowl out for a match winning 3 in a 21-20 win and even the scores at 2-2.  Ronnie Bell was last on the green and he played a great last bowl for a single to make it 20-20 then almost did again at the next end with his last bowl but failed by an inch as he lost 21-20.


Wednesday 10th july

1st XVI V Juniper Green (Home)

The 1st XVI were knocked off top spot with a 7-2 defeat at home to Juniper Green while Currie won 9-0 at home.  Dean Mackintosh maintained his 100% record with an 18-16 win against Iain Scougall but he required a last end single as he had slipped from 15-8 to 17-16 up playing the last end.  Ronnie Bell was peels at 8-8 after 12 ends then lost the last 5 ends in a low scoring game to lose 14-8 to Dougie Waugh.  Craig Mackintosh looked to be heading to victory as he led 14-8 after 10 ends then lost the last 7 ends in a 22-14 loss to Sean Clunder.  Scott Mackintosh slipped from 7-6 down to 13-8 then lost 1, 2, 2 in an 18-8 defeat to David Piercy.


2nd XVI V Mayfield (Away)

The 2nd XVI lost 7-2 away to Mayfield.  Bill Whyte recovered from 10-1 down to win 19-11 against J.Urquhart.  Scott Gillies also had a great comeback from 9-0 down to peel at 12-12 before losing a single at the last in a 13-12 defeat to B.McFarlane.  Alan Black took an early 5-3 lead then only won 2 more ends in an 18-7 loss to S.Kearsley.  In a strange game John Waters was 11-1 down then closed to 11-8 before losing 1, 1, 5, 2, 5, 2, 4 to trail 31-8 then finished 1, 5, to lose 31-14 to B.Dick.


3rd Team V Willowbrae (Away)

The 3rd team only had 1 rink again.  Ross Brown won 12-9 but the team lost 3-2 away to Willowbrae.


Tuesday 9th july

Top Ten V Bainfield (Away)

The men drew 4-4 away to Bainfield but lost 66-53 on shots.  With about 3 ends to go there was only 1 shot in the game however Bainfield finished strongly to claim the victory.  Scott Mackintosh won 21-9 and the triple of Ian Inkster, Tam Chapman and Craig Mackintosh won 17-11.  Keith Jeffery and Davy Allan lost 21-3 in the pairs and the four of Gordon Grundison, James Mills, Ronnie Bell and John Witherspoon lost 25-12.


Monday 8th July

Ladies EBL V Tanfield (Away)

The Ladies lost 5-0 (54-19) away to table toppers Tanfield.


Friday 5th july

Forth League V Wardie (Away)

The Ladies won 5-2 away to Wardie.  Margaret Murray won 16-8, Ann McCaskell won 18-9 and Diane Bell lost 12-9.


Wednesday 3rd july

1st XVI V Currie (Home)

The 1st XVI lost 5-4 at home to Currie but this was still good enough to keep them 4 points clear at the top of the table with 4 games remaining.  Craig Mackintosh made a good start to lead 12-3 then from 14-9 won the last 4 ends in a 21-9 victory against Ian Braid.  Scott Mackintosh trailed 10-5 after 9 ends then from13-7 down snatched a 14-13 victory against Dean Fleming with a 1, 4, 1, 1, finish.  Davy Allan found it tough going as he trailed Neil Fisher 11-1 but a 2nd half fightback closed to 15-12 down playing the last before losing a 6 in a 21-12 defeat.  Graeme Todd led 12-6 after 10 ends but a disastrous finish saw him win only 1 more end in a 25-14 loss to Colin Anderson.


2nd XVI V Liberton (Away)

The 2nd XVI lost 9-0 away to Liberton.  Peter Gordon lost a 4 at the 10th end to fall 11-6 behind and this proved to be the difference as he lost 15-12 to B.Barbow.  John Watters trailed 9-2 after 7 ends and never made it back to level terms in  15-9 defeat against Russell Scott.  Scott Gillies led 10-8 then lost the last 5 ends to lose 17-10 against Bob Cardwell.  Graham Mackay was only 14-11 down when he lost a 7 before losing 24-13 to R.Edmunson.


3rd Team V Queensberry (Home)

The 3rd team only had 1 rink this week so forfeited 3 points in a 3-2 win at home to Queensberry.  Alex Sime won 18-16 against John Dickson.


Monday 1st july

Ladies EBL V Bainfield (Home)

The Ladies won 3-2 at home to Bainfield.


sunday 30th june

Top 5 V Brunstane (Home)

The men won 3-1 at home to Brunstane.  Craig Mackintosh lost 21-10.  Ronnie Bell evened things up with a 21-8 win then Scott Mackintosh made it 2-1 with a 21-11 win.  Tam Chapman sealed the victory with a 21-19 win with Graeme Todd 15-13 up at the time.


East of Scotland Pairs

Sheila McIntosh and Pat Turner won the East of Scotland Pairs at Colinton.


Invitation Pairs

Craig Mackintosh and John Kidd won this years Invitation Pairs when they defeated Cathy Douglas and Steve Barclay in the final.  In the semi final Craig and John required a 4 at the last end to take care of Graeme Todd and June Woodall and Cathy and Steve beat Alvis Dickson and Richard Dall.


Saturday 29th june

E&LBA Senior Triples

Denis Breslin, Scott Gillies and Gordon Gray lost 17-8 against Leith in the final of the E&LBA Senior Triples at Parkside.  LRF led 4-2 early on but once Leith went in front they dominated the game and deserved their win.


Friday 28th june

E&LBA Senior Triples
Denis Breslin, Scott Gillies and Gordon Gray had a comfortable win against Ardmillan at Craigentinny to claim a place in the final on Saturday 29th June at Parkside.


Wednesday 26th june

1st XVI V Trinity (Away)

The 1st XVI got back to winning ways with a 5-4 win away to Trinity.  Dean Mackintosh scored a 6 at the first end then raced into a 14-1 lead before winning 27-13 against Calum Ross.  Gordon Gray was 13-8 in front but lost a 5 to go peels at 13-13.  He responded immediately with a 5 then pulled away to win 27-16.  Graeme Todd built up an 8-4 lead then lost 6 ends in a row to trail 15-8 then lost 15-10 to Allan Munro.  Scott Mackintosh took an 11-7 lead after 12 ends but a poor finish saw him lose 3, 3, 1, 3, 6 in a 23-11 defeat against Kevin Maginnis.


2nd XVI V Leith (Home)

The 2nd XVI lost 9-0 at home to Leith.

Forth League V Brunstane (Home)

The Ladies got back to winning ways with a 7-0 home win against Brunstane.  Margaret Murray won 21-14, Rosemary Mackintosh won 21-9 and Ann McCaskell won 22-6.


E&LBA Senior Triples

Alistair Cook, Gordon Grundison and Gordon Gray won 18-13 against Dean.  They play Ardmillan at Craigentinny on Friday 28th June in the semi final.


Thursday 20th june

E&LBA Triples

Derek Robertson, Gordon Gray and Scott Mackintosh lived to regret the loss of a 5 at the first end as they lost 16-14 to Carrick Knowe at Northern.


Wednesday 19th june

1st XVI V Gorgie Mills (Home)

The 1st XVI suffered their first defeat of the season in a 7-2 home loss to Gorgie Mills although it could have been so different as after 10 ends they looked on course for a 7-2 win.  Dean Mackintosh made it 8 wins from 8 although only just as he held on from 17-5 up to win 18-17 against Davie Greig.  Graeme Todd was 16-4 down after 12 ends but almost snatched a point as he finished 4, 2, (1), 1, 5 in a 17-16 loss to Dean Thomson.  Scott Mackintosh led 15-6 but only scored 1 more shot in a 20-16 defeat to Scott Purvis.  Gordon Gray was 9-2 in front but he also scored only 1 more shot as he lost 15-10 to Kevin Jamieson.


2nd XVI Willowbrae (Away)

The 2nd XVI won 7-2 away to Willowbrae.  Peter Gordon powered home from 13-11 to win 26-11against G. Wood.  Bill Whyte was always in command in a 19-10 win against M. Fraser.  Denis Breslin had a tough battle in a 17-15 win against D. Fraser.  John Watters should maybe stick to the 3rd team as he was thumped 20-8 by J. Robertson.


3rd Team V Craigentinny B (Away)

The 3rd team lost 5-0 away to Craigentinny as they once again only managed to field 1 rink who lost 21-17.


Monday 17th june

Ladies EBL V Goldenacre (Away)

The Ladies remain unbeaten as they notched up their 2nd draw of the season with a 2.5-2.5 draw away to Goldenacre.


1st XVI V Merchiston (Away)

The 1st XVI made it to the halfway stage with their 7th win of the season in a 9-0 away win at Merchiston.  Scott Mackintosh hit 30 shots for the 3rd week running.  From 4-1 down he scored 7, 2, 6 then at 18-8 up won the last 6 ends in a 33-8 win against Frank Gordon.  A 4 end burst moved Craig Mackintosh 12-6 in front then from 14-12 he won the last 5 ends in a 22-12 defeat of A.Nisbet.  Dean Mackintosh remains unbeaten as he finished with a hat trick of 2s to win 19-10 against C.Cochrane.  Graeme Todd battled to victory against Ian Burns with a run of 4, 2, 1, (3), 2, 2 to move from 9-6 down to 17-12 up then lost 2 singles in the last 2 ends to win 17-14.


2nd XVI V Colinton (Home)

​The 2nd XVI drew 4.5-4.5 at home to Colinton.  In a game of two halves John Watters won 8 of the first 9 ends to lead 15-1 then lost 7 of the last 8 ends to hang on for a 16-12 win against Peter Johnston.  Harry Pincott recovered from 9-6 to win 16-12 against W. Ferguson.  Peter Gordon won five of the last 7 ends but just came up short in a 14-13 defeat to Robert Richmond.  Bill Whyte won 8 of the 17 ends but didn't score heavily enough as he lost 16-9 to Donald McLeod.


3rd Team V Merchiston (Home)

The 3rd team lost 3-2 to Merchiston at home although they only had 1 rink.  Denis Breslin won 30-7 against Angus Gunn.


Friday 14th june

Forth League V Hillside (Away)

The Ladies crashed to a 6-1 defeat away from home against Hillside.  Ann McCaskell claimed the solitary point with an 11-11 peel while Rosemary Mackintosh lost 15-7 and Diane Bell lost 17-7.


thursday 13th june

Keith Jeffery and Davy Allan lost 19-7 to Carrick Knowes Colin Mitchell and Darren Hush at Mayfield.


E&LBA Triples

Derek Robertson, Gordon Gray and Scott Mackintosh won 16-9 against Craigentinny at Mayfield.

Rosemary Mackintosh made it a hat trick for the Ladies going to Ayr as she won the Senior Singles with a 21-15 win against Rita Reid from Goldenacre.

Bowls Scotland District Mixed Pairs Final

Rosemary and Craig Mackintosh held their own for along time in the final but faltered on the run in to lose 16-11 to Maitlands Alison McDougall and Alan Trotter at Seafield.


Saturday 8th june

Bowls Scotland Ladies District Singles Final

Pat Turner led from start to finish to claim the district singles title with a 21-7 win against Goldenacre's Zandra Kinnear at LRF.


Bowls Scotland Ladies District Pairs Final

Gillian Mackintosh and Nicola Barclay lost out on their home green to Tanfield's Carol Munro and Margo Wood at an extra end.


Bowls Scotland Ladies District Triples Final

Wendy Rhind, Diane Bell and Margaret Murray had a comfortable 20-5 win against Hillside at LRF.

Bowls Scotland District Junior Singles Final

Dean Mackintosh won a hard fought match 21-16 win against Tanfield's Liam McKay at Craigentinny to qualify for Ayr for the 3rd time in 6 years.

The Ladies won 5-2 at home to Willowbrae.  Margaret Murray top scored once again with a 26-3 win and Diane Bell won 16-13.  Rosemary Mackintosh lost 16-13.

wednesday 5th june

1st XVI V Dudley (Home)

The 1st XVI maintained their 8 point lead at the top of the table with a 7-2 home win against Dudley.  Scott Mackintosh got off to a great start with a 7 at the first end and also added  couple of 5s on the way to a 31-7 win against Stuart Hawthorn.  Craig Mackintosh also scored a 7 and two 5s in a 25-9 win against Ian Robertson.  Dean Mackintosh was struggling at 11-3 down but a 5 at the 9th end move him within 3 shots then at 10-15 he finished 3, 4, (1), 2 to win 19-16 against David Dewar.  Graeme Todd was 8-6 in front before losing 6 ends on the bounce to trail 21-8, then won the last 3 ends in a 21-14 defeat to Colin Barr.


3rd Team V Willowbrae (Home)

Willowbrae were unable to raise a team so LRF were awarded a 5-0 win.


Tuesday 4th june

Bowls Scotland Junior Singles

Dean Mackintosh won 21-11 against Keiron Ward from Summerside at Queensberry. In a re-run of the 2017 final, Dean will play Liam McKay from Tanfield at Craigentinny @ 6.45pm.


Monday 3rd june

EBL Ladies Cup

The Ladies won 5-0 away to Carrick Know in the 1st round of the Cup.

Bowls Scotland Ladies Pairs

Gillian Mackintosh and Nicola Barclay beat Maitland at Goldenacre.  They will play Tanfield in the final at LRF on Saturday 8th June at 2pm.


Bowls Scotland Ladies Triples

Wendy Rhind, Diane Bell and Margaret Murray beat Craigentinny at Goldenacre.  They will play Hillside in the final at LRF on Saturday 8th June @ 2pm.

Rosemary and Craig Mackintosh beat Willowbrae with the last bowl on an umpires measure at Wardie.  They will play Maitland in the final at Seafield on Sunday 9th June @ 6.45pm.

The semi finals of the Ladies Senior Singles and Fours were washed out at Wardie.  They will try again on Monday 10th June.


Wednesday 29th may

1st XVI V Whitehouse & Grange (Home)

The 1st XVI continued their remarkable start to the season with a 5th win on the trot and a 9-0 defeat of Whitehouse & Grange. Scott Mackintosh was 14-7 in front then took a bowl out for 6 as he won the last 6 ends in a 30-7 win against Steve Kirk. Dean Mackintosh was leading 13-7 when he picked up a magnificent 7 as he stormed to a 28-12 win against John Cameron. Craig Mackintosh was always in control as he won 24-10 against Malcolm Weir. Graeme Todd was 8-2 up then lost 3, 1, 3 to trail 9-8, He responded with 1, 4, 2, 3 before winning 19-13 against Ross Maguire


2nd XVI V Sighthill (Away)

The 2nd XVI scored an unexpected 5-4 away win against table toppers Sighthill. John Watters stepped up from the 3rd team to skip his rink to a 17-8 victory against A. Wright. Harry Pincott picked up his first win of the season as he won the last 5 ends from 11-9 down to win 17-11 against C. Smith. Peter Gordon proved he can play in the rain as he recovered from 11-1 down to peel 15-15 against S. Blyth. Bill Whyte had a night to forget as he crashed to a 29-12 defeat against D. Brannan.


3rd Team V Queensberry (Away)

The 3rd team game was called off as we were unable to raise a team.

Diane Bell beat Willowbrae at LRF.

The Ladies dropped their first points of the season in a 5-2 home win against Leith. Margaret Murray won 19-12, Diane Bell won 14-7 and Rosemary Mackintosh lost 13-10.


Wednesday 22nd may

1st XVI V Juniper Green (Away)

The 1st XVI made it 4 wins out of 4 with a 9-0 win away to Juniper Green.  Craig Mackintosh stood 11-5 up after 12 ends and finished 1, 3, 4, 2, 5 to beat D. Piercy 26-5. Graeme Todd led 7-6 but 5 ends later he was 21-7 in front helped by a count of 7 at the 14th end. Graeme won 22-10 against Aly Barrett.  Scott Mackintosh  led from start to finish in an 18-9 win against Dougie Waugh. Dean Mackintosh looked to be cruising to victory at 17-6 up after 13 ends but lost 3, 2, 3 and faced 3 against at the last end before drawing the 3rd shot to win 17-16 against D. Conway.


2nd XVI V Mayfield (Home)

The 2nd XVI lost 7-2 at home to top of the league Mayfield. Bill Whyte put together a 7 end run to lead 18-6 then lost 2, 4, 1 to win 18-13 to Scott Kerray.  Harry Pincott looked to be on course for his first win when 11-7 up after 11 ends but lost the next 5 ends to trail 14-11 and could only manage a 2 at the last end in a 14-13 defeat to Willie Weir. Peter Gordon was peels at 10-10 after 12 ends but lost counts of 4, 3, 2 on the run in to lose 19-13 to Billy Dick. Denis Breslin was 13-9 in front with 4 ends to play but conceded 6, 3, (1), 3 to lose 21-14 to Brian McFarlane.

The Ladies made it 3 wins from 3 with a 7-0 win against Trinity. Rosemary Mackintosh won 20-7, Ann McCaskell won 19-7 and Diane Bell won 15-7.

Wednesday 15th may

1st XVI V Currie (Away)

The 1st XVI won 7-2 away to Currie to remain at the top of the league.  This game could have went either way entering the last end with LRF trailing in 3 rinks and 3 shots down overall.  Scott Mackintosh was 9 up and lost a 2 to win 17-10.  Craig Mackintosh was 1 down playing the last before Gordon Gray trailed the jack into the ditch to give them a 3 and an 18-16 win.  Graeme Todd was 11 down playing the last but picked up a single to lose 23-13 and Dean Mackintosh picked up a 3 to win 13-11.


2nd XVI V Liberton (Home)

The 2nd XVI continue to struggle as they lost 7-2 at home to Liberton.  Denis Breslin raced into a 9-0 lead then beat B. Carson 20-12. In a tight game Harry Pincott was peels 4 times before losing singles at the last 3 ends to lose 14-11 to Charlie Duncan. Peter Gordon led 9-2 then 12-11 but faltered on the run in to lose 18-13 to John Thorburn. Bill Whyte lost a 6 and two 4s to trail 17-7 but fought back to 15-17 then lost the last 3 ends in a 21-15 loss to John Milne.

The Ladies won 7-0 at home to Summerside.  Margaret Murray lost her 1st shot of the season in a 23-1 win.  Rosemary Mackintosh won 18-10 and Diane Bell won 13-9.

Bowls Scotland Senior Fours

Davy Ford, Davy Veitch, Harry Pincott and Bill Whyte lost 12-11 to Leith at Blackhall.


Wednesday 8th may

1st XVI V Trinity (Home)

On a bitterly cold and wet night the 1st XVI won 9-0 at home to newly promoted Trinity. Scott Mackintosh had a comfortable 26-7 win against Drew Walker. Dean Mackintosh was peels at 7-7 after 8 ends before cruising to a 22-8 victory against Paul Gierthy winning 8 of the last 9 ends. Craig Mackintosh was only 6-4 in front after 7 but he also finished strongly to win 19-7 against Calum Ross. Graeme Todd put together a 5 end burst to move from 9-5 to 16-5 before winning 19-9 against A. Munro.

2nd XVI V Leith (Away)

The 2nd XVI suffered a miserable night as they lost 9-0 away to Leith. Harry Pincott trailed 8-1 before losing 16-8 to George Thomson. Peter Gordon was 13-3 down after 7 then lost 24-8.  Denis Breslin only won 4 ends in a 22-4 defeat to Peter Rogers. Bill Whyte lost two 5s and a 4 in a 26-6 loss to G. Fitz.


Monday 6th may

Bowls Scotland Senior Singles

Ronnie Bell won 21-18 against Jessfield at Postal.

Gordon Grundison lost 21-20 to a rather fortunate last bowl from Summerside at Jessfield.


FRIDAY 3rd May

Forth League V Pilrig (Home)

The Ladies gave Pilrig a bit of a pasting in a 7-0 win. Margaret Murray kept a clean sheet in a 43-0 win while Ann McCaskell high scored with a 44-4 win.  Diane Bell added a bit of normality in a 17-13 win.


Bowls Scotland Pairs

Craig and Dean Mackintosh won 15-8 against Willowbrae at Brunstane.


Wednesday 1st May

1st XVI V Gorgie Mills (Away)

The 1st XVI got off to a great start with a 6-3 win away to Gorgie Mills.  Graeme Todd led the way with a 19-10 win against Scott Purvis.  Dean Mackintosh was 1 down playing the last end and picked up a 4 in a 16-13 win against Dean Thompson.  Craig Mackintosh snatched a peel against Brian Dinglewith a single at the last end having been 11-7 up with 3 ends to play. Scott Mackintosh lost 17-12 against David Greig.


2nd XVI V Willowbrae (Home)

The 2nd XVI lost 7-2 at home to Willowbrae.  Peter Gordon got off to a good start to lead 10-0 before winning 17-11 against J. Robertson. Harry Pincott was 13-11 in front with 3 ends to play but lost 3, 1, 1 to lose 16-13 to M. Fraser.  Bill Whyte lost counts of 5 and 6 in a 19-16 defeat to D. McLeod. Denis Breslin had a night to forget as he crashed to a 29-2 defeat against R. Graham.


3rd Team V Craigentinny B (Home)

Craigentinny were only able to raise 1 rink and John Watters ran out a comfortable 20-9 winner against John Douglas to seal a 5-0 victory.


Monday 29th april

Gillian Mackintosh has been selected for a Scotland trial for the Ladies team on Saturday 18th May at Ayr Northfield.

Craig Mackintosh has been selected for a Scotland trial for the Gents Under 25 team on Sunday 2nd June.
